last one

Gooooooood morning, Keio. Today is May 20, 2009 and weather is absolutely sunny. This is y last blog in this school. Are you gonna miss me? Me, too. I think I will miss you guys soon later. It is still feeling cold but March means little different for us. In about 2 weeks, we would graduate from this school and go back to Japan. A lot of graduate students of last year and before that came back to this school when they have vacation to New York or the United States. I used to not be able to get why they were coming back just to see this school like just after 5 or 6 months since their graduations. One of my friends said “Even if I have vacation to New York City from Japan, I do not think visit school. We were living here for 4 years that should be enough for me.” I can agree with him. Of course everybody think this school is nice one and we made a lot of funny memories there. I am sure of that. However, on the other hand, everyday we complain of the bad food in Keio cafeteria, very narrow dorm rooms, dirty toilet, no bath tubs or all kinds of things like these. Why do many graduates want to see these things again? I did not use to get it.However, it is little different for nowadays. We are all now looking at our graduations which is coming about 2 weeks later. We now feel we left much unfinished things we need to do with our friends here. Our high school memories have to be very glitter. We are afraid that everybody would be busy to study in Keio Academy and be separated from this Class of 2009 members. I heard someone said “I want to graduate as soon as I can but it should not be so early.’ I think that is exactly all students think and feel now. We have to keep putting much effort on studying by our graduations, that means we always have to have a appropriate tensions on us but on the other hand we should not forget to make memorable days.

Thank you guys to read my blog since last year. I am so glad to write many blogs in English classes. This helped us to learn English. It was so excellent time! Yes, absolutely excellent! I appreciate the English teachers gave us these opportunities to have these wonderful time.
Keio mean too much to say for me. I got a lot of friends in dorms and school. They are alike all family, and they might think me as same as I thought. That was the wonderful experience that everyone could not used to get them.

What am I thinking right after our graduations? Are we still crying? Are we looking for anything else? Have we forgotten about these wonderful days? No one knows that right? We have to decide what we gonna do.

See you again!

wdw

Hello! Long time no see. How was your weekend? Did you go somewhere with your friends or family?
We almost all 12th graders have gone to Walt Disney World in Florida! It was second time to go there to me but it’s my first trip without my family but only friends. It was quite busy week and at the day right after the spring break everyone’s face looks terrible with tiring.
Florida’s weather was extremely excellent except Monday the first day of the trip. Most boys got nice sun tens or their faces, arms, backs and shoulders. These sun tens still annoy us especially when we get in the beds. After skin’s color changed to red, it is too itchy to let you sleep and then after the redness have gone, you can not sleep because the very thin skin will rip off from your shoulders or back. I think that is one of the reasons we look so tired in this week.
And this Monday and Tuesday were unbelievably hot as same as Florida. All Keio students were amazed like they thought the spring has been skipped and hot summer has come to Keio. In Keio, the cherry blossom is blossoming but it did not fit to those hot weathers.
Walt Disney World has many huge sections in itself such as Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Blizzard Beach, Hollywood Studio, Typhoon Lagoon or Downtown Disney. I have gone to these all places and my favorite one is Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach is a huge outside pool which is designed as like snowcapped mountain. It was quite COOL and there is extremely high water slider. It is higher than the Tower of Tellar. I have ridden it and it was so fun! You should try it when you get there!

Next time I will write a blog I might show you more details about the Florida Trip and also Walt Disney World. So see you soon. Have a good day!

Way to Sleep

Hello good morning everybody. Today is April 8, 2009. Today’s weather is cloudy.

April is very busy month for us all keio students. At Saturday of next week, we have a cultural festival which is called Sho-Fu-Sai and in the night right before that we have Zen-Ya-Sai which is the biggest event in this school. Most students except athlete who have season sports are now working on the preparation for these Zen-Ya-Sai and Sho-Fu-Sai things. Someone have musical bands for the performances on these stages, someone like me might have dance performances there or many people such as cultural festival committee are working on everyday’s after school. The third quarter’s exams were gone about 2 weeks ago so we might not care about the study things so much but because of these things we are very busy and I could not sleep well all nights.

Then here is my suggestion for everybody who could not sleep well at night and worry about that. I have just one way to get sleep faster. It is very easy and useful.

Do you want to know that?

Ok, I can tell you about that. At first you got just changed in pajamas and if you got glasses, after you took it off you go to your bed then. You take the blankets on your body, close your eyes and JUST COUNT THE NUMBER OF SHEEPS.

Is it easy for you?

I don’t know whether people in the United States know this or not but almost all Japanese must have tried it before.

If you count the number like “1 sheep and 2 sheep and 3 sheep and 4 sheep and. . . . . . .,” you might get over hundred of them. However don’t worry about that. JUST KEEP ON GONING. Even if you get thousands of them, KEEP GOING. You might be tired and slept at 294,434,436,782,668, 434. But this way to sleep has one problem.

You will see only the dreams of sheep.

But please try it just once. It won’t kill you.

See you soon.

yeah

Good morning Keio. Today is April 1st. Today’s weather is sunny and it seems like the spring coming quite soon.
. . . . . . . . . . .
Today I want to write about my memory with a friend when I was 8th grader in Japan.
. . . . . . . . . . .
About 4 years ago, I was just 15 years old and still lived in Tokyo, Japan. I was not very happy with my school life in the way I think the most people feel at their childhood. I have woken up at 7 o’clock every morning and got changed in my school uniform and took a breakfast. Then I have run into to the train to my school for about an hour. There is nothing special in each day. I thought everybody especially students were always looking for something they could focus on or interested in but I did not have anything.
Only thing I had have at that time is a friend named Makoto. She is a student of the school where it is very near by my school and we use same train station every morning. The only reason I used to go to the school everyday without any screaming is just her. She was the only one pleasant in my school life. She was a very active girl and liked many kinds of sports but she was not in any sports clubs. This is because she had a not very serious problem with her left leg but she cures that her mother would worry about her too much if she plays sports. Therefore we spent our time together every after school days. We sometimes went to each other’s house to play but we used to go to her school building’s top. There were usually nobody but very happy sunshine was looked down to us. We talked many things such as classes in our school, friends, parents, families or futures. I do not remember all of them nowadays but it was very fun to me. There is nothing special between her and me. I didn’t much study but I think it is like the way everyone used to do.
One day I went to school as usual Makoto was not coming there. I felt little strange but I went back to my house. Next day, and then the day after next day, she did not appear in front of me. About 4 days later Makoto calls me and she said she was going to leave Tokyo due to her father’s job in a week. I think I was very suprised and unhappy with that but I could not say anything. I was just standing there and look up the grate sky covering all over me. This is my first time I have ever seen my tears.

Ok, today is April 1, 2009. So it might be NOT true, but do not worry about it because it does not matter.

See you

hAppy

Hello, how are you guys doing today? It’s March 23, 2009. Today’s weather is sunny. The little warm wind seems to show the ending of the winter and coming of next spring at the same time. We are all glad to have coming of spring and all I want to do now is going to school with only t-shirt and a short pant. Especially in Japan, every spring is not only time to start new things but also time to end or farewells. In Japan all schools would start in the first term of April and it’s also the time new working people who had just graduated last school year.
However starting new things sometimes means you have to give up some things you already got.
You might leave or say goodbye to your best friends at graduations or you might have to leave your family when you start to work or marry someone.
We always have to remember it and keep it in our minds even when you feel happy with you situations.

HE'S BACK!

Hello, how are you doing today? It is now midnight at 0 o’clock. Why I am still staying awake tonight is just to doing my BLOOOOOG! It is due on just today. Yeah.

I am so happy that Mr. Akimoto has came back to this school from Japan. He had something his parents’ problems in Japan so he had left this school for about 2 weeks. I do not know what kind of problem with his family, but I was so much happy that he has coming back.

Don’t you know why?

We all are looking for the next Target Trip!

On every weekend, Mr. Akimoto takes us to White Plains by his big car. We don’t need to call a taxi and we don’t need to waste our time of Friday night.

We will have mid term exam in next week so we have to get a lot of food, drink and snacks!

We are very welcoming that you give us some food!

See you and good night!

hard hard hard and then easy

Hello, how are you doing today? It is March 11, 2009. Today’s weather is cloudy and I do not know about today’s lunch and it’s Wednesday.
I am just feeling this week is a quite busy one because many numbers of homework had been assigned. There are Kanji Test, English Reading test, English vocabulary print, English reading print, Japanese History’s class report, Economic Projects, quiz and its presentations. I have never seen this much of things to do is all in ONE WEEK. I thought it was impossible that all these things to be done well, now though, about the half of them have been done. The biggest thing that left and I need to get done is Economy class’s projects. Everyone was given one or two partners for researching about the assigned countries’ all economic issues. I have a partner with me and we got Australia for its projects. We have to compare that country and Japan with a lot of information or data that you should find on the internet or Keio library and then we are required to make 2 to 3 posters which has visual data or graph on them. And then after we had a presentation of it, we have to hand all information in. Do you think it might be very hard projects? If you do think so, you are exactly right. We spent one whole week for this. Can you imagine that? Let me repeat. I have never seen this much of homework are required in one week!
This week might be quite hard, next week would not because a week before the exam and exam week might be really hard. But it is OK to me. Do you ask me why? This is just because, after 3rd quarter’s exam were done, we have several events that must be a lot of fun!! We are all looking for Sho-Fu-Sai the Keio Cultural Festival and Taiku-Sai the sports festival Florida trip and the graduation party. Both Sho-Fu-Sai and Florida Trip must be the biggest events in this year! I can not wait until April! Let's go to Florida now!

see you next time! 359

PANTS

“Good morning Keio. How are you guys doing today? It is March 4, 2009 and today’s weather is sunny. For today’s lunch, we have chicken something….I do not know any details.”
All our school days are always started with this boring announcement. We are already used to this so some students might be feeling comfortable of it. Actually I am not complaining, I am OK with this because this is what this school Keio Academy of New York should be looked like. I like it.

As through about three years here, I think this school is not a kind of normal or common one. Of course this school has dormitory life system so obviously it is different from other school in not only Japan but also the United States. However I think there are still some big differences between this school and other dormitory schools. In the other words, these differences are good mood with a great deal of individuality for this school. Let me show you some examples.

As usual days, when we go to school, we can wear our own ordinary clothes. Everyone wears different style or colors of clothes everyday especially the girls so it is very good and interesting for us and of course me. However on Wednesday we are required to be worn in Keio school uniforms. We have to wear same socks, same colored plants and jackets, same much long ties and black leather shoes. If you forgot even just one of them, you might get a BVS which is a penalty sheets and called Behavior Violation Slip and you should stay in the school for extra study after school of that day. I think we do not need to wear Keio Uniform once a week without any reasons. How do you feel about this?

As one more thing everybody might think it is strange rule is that we are not allowed to wear any jeans to come to school. Nowadays how many people dose wear jeans a single day? Who think all jeans are dirty and it does not fit to study? Some kind of jeans pants which has damaged like design on it or much paint on it might be not fit for school days. However this problem would be very easily solved if the teachers who noticed it and felt not happy with that warn to those students. Is that so hard or boring jobs? I do not think so.

There are much more problems not only these two. Some adults or Keio faculties teachers might feel it as not big issues but these things are very serious problems because it will not be solved if there is no help from the adults or Keio faculties teachers. We strongly hope these little problem will be solved and not only our school days but also dormitory life will be more better than now. Let’s do something we can!

Most important thing is to start something to do or say to do that.

Watch!

Hello! Long time no see, how was your weekends? My weekend was pretty nice, but unfortunately on Sunday it snowed a lot so we could not go out with my best friends…. I was so sad about that. However on the other hand we could go to New York City on last Saturday. I enjoyed food, shopping and also time in through the trains to New York (we had all slept in the trains to white plains to New York.) I got a new watch, earring and shoes in SOHO. The watch I bought is a kind of pop design, so I had liked it so much. These three items I got were all on special sale and they were less than half of the original prices!!!!!! Can you imagine of this?? I was so happy about them but now I worrying how much money left in my hand…..

But, I am OK because it was fun. See you next time!

skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

In this weekend, we have four days off which is Saturday to Tuesday. Some of students will spend 3 days out of 4 days off for the Ski Trip. Actually, I am not going to the Ski trip but a lot of my friends are much exciting to enjoy skiing. I now a kind of regret that I did not sign up the ski trip. This is because I have nothing to do on my 4 days weekend. I am wondering that I might kill myself by being bored.

The best way, I used to do, to kill my time is GO TO YOUTUBE.

Youtube is the savior for all people who are bored for their time. On Youtube, there are innumerable videos or songs in all kinds of language, of course English, Japanese and so on. A huge number of videos are uploaded on Youtube every day that is why it is known as the biggest site in the whole world. We Keio students love it, some students are watching it for about over 5 hours per day. I used to use this site for looking for information about something, but it is time to use it for just killing my free time.

dogs in my hand

Hello, how are you doing today? People sometimes be confused or get in a bind for the cultural differences of their food. There is always a possibility that people have wrong ideas for foreign countries’ food. I have seen a lot of restraint of Sushi which is Japanese traditional food in New York but some of it (It can be said more.) are not even similar of the real thing. As a general way to eat Sushi, Japanese must use Soy Sauce and the mustard of Japanese horseradish. However some American or other nations’ people living in New York don’t taste Soy Sauce or Japanese horseradish so the cooks have to find other kind of dressing materials for seasoning. It might make Sushi exactly different from the real one.
We either have confused about the cultural differences for the served food in Keio cafeteria. Quite many kinds of Spanish food which are not familiar for us are served in cafeteria every day, so we have to try it with big courage. Almost those challenging would be failed. But it’s ok. We are used to do that. And Keio cafeteria’s cooks sometimes try to serve some Japanese food for us. It’s very delightful for us but there are many mistakes or misunderstandings. The first thing I have seen in cafeteria’s menu is “Chicken Gyu-Don.” Of course, “Chicken” IS chicken but “Gyu” means BEEF in Japanese.
How can I get this? When I had eaten to check it, there were NO BEEF. It was just Chicken Don, but it tasted OK.
If you want to understand the other countries’ cultures, you have to be very careful, or you might befoul at it.

This is all what I think while eating hotdogs in train to New York City.

…..Where are the DOGS? What’s so HOT?

See you next time!

V-Party

Hey, good morning Keio.  Yesterday we had no school because of President’s day, on Saturday, Valentine Party was held in school building and a lot of students were t there. It was one of the best parties I ever had in this school. When you enter the building, you get a ticket, which was 5 dollar, then you can eat any foods or drinks as free. There were mini-hot dogs, pizzas, cheese cakes, ice creams, chocolate fondue, apple juice, orange juice or any kinds or sodas. Or you can just have a cup of water if you want. I guess they got not enough profits by that, but their works were wonderful and everyone seems to be satisfied enough. And also, some performances were incredibly interesting, I like the band who had sang the famous Japanese Valentine song. I had felt happy about my Zion’s juniors. I had known they had practiced much everyday but I was surprised by their cool performance. We now are looking for the performances in Shofusai the school festival which will be in Aprill. Please check thme out!!!!

FIRE!!!!

Today’s weather is sunny. It is a kind of the most comfortable day in this week. I hope the winter would have done and the beginning of the spring would be appeared. I like spring rather than winter.
Today is a good day for study. The things have happened last 5 minutes of the first class of the day. When the Kokugo’s teacher, Ms. Kikuchi, tried to end up the topic and hand out the other paper stuffs, the bell had rung much earlier than usual. The tone of the bell had been getting louder and louder, and then sooner after, the sound had changed to the huge beep tones. It was so unpleasant and the teacher got in a bind because her plan for the class had been destroyed by the fire drill. I do not understand why the teachers or all other faculties did not have known the fire drill. It might cause many problems to not only students but also teachers. What if we was taking quizzes in class? How could the teachers prevent the cheatings? How can the students show their innocence for the asking of cheatings? And also we had no rest time between first and second class. I consider about the importance of the fire drills and I am sure that we need some of them but I can not get the reason why the teachers have not informed before. I think that the school and the teacher have responsibilities to set up the well-organized, fair and worthful time of the classes to the students equally.
The system of fire drill in Keio is held in disrepute. The fire drills are often held in the right after the study hour which is around 10 pm. There must be some students who are taking shower, keeping studying or preparing for sleep because they are tired.
The system of fire drill should be improved as soon as possible. They might destroy our some rights.

Digital Songs

Hello how are you doing?

This is an addition for last weeks limits of 500 words.

Recently I watch several web sites. I think Apple’s internet service which is called iTunes Music Store is most convenient and useful for me.

Now I am looking for some good Hip Hop song for Zion’s performances in Shofusai which is the biggest event in the year of KEIO. iTunes Music Sore shows us incredibly huge amount of songs in all a lots of genre. Therefore I chose iTunes Music Store but there are several other songs sites on web.

About five to ten years ago, before the digital song services have been appeared, the only way that we can get music is CD or radio. I used to buy CDs of my favorite artists or borrow some from my friends. Because of appearance of iPod and iTunes Music Store, we do not need to go to CD stores or to line up hundreds of CDs on your desks. Only you need to buy a song is your computer.

Thanks to these systems, everybody in other countries can buy all new Japanese songs easily and much faster than looking for CDs in stores.

If you have not used these services, you should try them when you want some songs. Immediately you will notice the convenience of them.

Who Knows Snow

Hello how are you doing recently?
On last week, we had one Snow Day Off and one Snow Delay, so it was a kind of easy week. I did not know that snow give a lot of hope to our lives like that. I used to love snows and went outside to play with making a snow cave or a snow man when snow fell around my house or school. That is why I used to love snow. However I love snow just because of school delay or Snow Day. Every winter in New York is anything like freezing, but this is the last opportunity to go through them for me. We probably could not see any snow in Tokyo.
So give us one more snow day. Just one more….

Keio Year Book will be handed out to all students in the very last of each school year. In that book, there must be a lot of pictures which shows several events we had, usual school life or dormitory life. Especially, all 12th grade students have one own page each which is called Senior Page. A lot of pictures of friends, teachers, parents or junior fellows put on each one’s Senior Page that are decollated by themselves. The deadline of submission of them WAS today but almost every one had not finished them. This is because there are much many friends than I thought. I must go develop more pictures on this weekend. However on the other hand I am so interested and looking forward to see everyone’s Senior Page.
And I also I am looking forward to our graduations so much.

I will write another blog to add more topics in this week.
So see you there.

Snow Falls on Keio

Hello, everyone!
How are you doing?

In last week, we had second exam in this year.
We all did beat their exams or probably are beaten by the exams.
No one knows yet.

In the weekend which is right after the exam, we rolled out to Manhattan.
Ryoto Amano, Kazuma Honda, Shintaro Enomoto, Kaoru Tachibana and I, who are all 12th graders in this school, took a train to NYC and had a lot of fun there.

At first, we went to Kinokuniya which is a japanese book store in NYC.
After taking some books there, we met the keio new york's graduator.
I was so happy to see him again and for having a little talk.

Then, we ate Peking duck for lunch  in China Town.
I had ever went to only Joe's Ginger or Joe's Shanghai which are famous for Sho-Ron-Pow the special dumprings.
So it was my first time to go to eat Pecking duck in China Town.
the name of restaurant is "Peking Duch House."
It was awesome! You definitely have to try them!

I promise this restaurant will give you guys a wonderful time.

Then I got two label jeans and ate Yakiniku for dinner.

I re-recognize the goodness of NYC.

Exam Week

Hello, how are you doing?
I AM just okey.

About 10 days past after we came back to this school.
There was nothing special to write down on here.

However we WILL have big things in next week.

That’s Exams.

I did a kind of “OK” for the last exam but at this time I’m so much afraid of it.

This is because we are kind of starting to care for which departments we will be recommended in Keio Academy.
Doing “OK” is might not enough for us now. Each of us is trying hard to be better than others.
We are thinking about it so seriously. It’s all about our grades.

After about 5 months from today, we will have graduated this school and going back to Japan.
All what we afraid of is our futures, not only the grades in the near seconds.

I just hope GOD WILL BLESS US!

But I guess these tensions would be all gone when the exams are over.
It’s just like that.

I'm Back

We were just right back to Keio last Sunday.
The flight from Narita to JFK airport took about 13 hours.
That made us so much tired and we are still suffered from not getting over jetlag in these few week.
On Monday, the first day of school which is also second day we came back here, we all were sleepy in whole classes rubbing up are our dopey eyes.
So much quizzes or homework are keeping letting us not to sleep.

We 12th graders have only half of the year left.
When I think about things after graduation, I’m getting sort of nervous.
After graduation, each one would go her or his own way of life.
By any chance we couldn’t all meet again at once.

We have to esteem highly these our time in Keio.
