WE ALMOST GOT IT

This is the last day of the school in this year. I think this Monday and Tuesday mean nothing to us and this year’s winter break is a kind of shorter than usual.

Whatever, we almost get it. In 24 hours, we will be in JFK and seems to get ride on our air planes.

How cool is it?

I almost finished packing the baggage last night. I can’t stop this feeling interesting to get Japan.

Some students might get cut their hair.
Some students might buy too many new clothes.
Some students might be taller than before the break, might be.

Of course winter break is a big fun and, after the break, it will be also fun that we will meet again in this school and then notice their small or big changes.

I wish everyone will be back safely. You can be CHAGED but I just hope you’ll be still you.

Thanks a lot for your biggest kindness to me, and I wish you all have excellent winter and New Year.

SEE YOU ALL IN 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Japan, Japan then JAPAN

The winter vacation is going to start soon!
We now have only 5 school days and 2 weekend days. On next Wednesday we will get on the air plains to go our own home. Some students have home and family in the overseas countries but the most students are coming from Japan.

My family is now also living in Japan. My family moved their home from New York to Kanagawa, the name of the prefecture next to Tokyo, right just this August. So I am not kind of used to be living there yet, I am little interested to go back there.

For the KEIO students, going back to Japan or living on Japan means too much. For them, Japan is just a place they really need or hope to live. Just because we are Japanese and we have grown up in Japan, we love all things in Japan, food, places, stores, people or all other things.

I am so glad to be going to have the winter vacation in Japan.
I can’t wait until next week!!!!

If there is any opportunity, see you guys in Japan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice end of 2008 and great beginning of 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Week

Last week was Thanksgiving holiday week.

We had a lot of fun in the last week which we went to Manhattan for shopping, great meals and went to Woodbury Common Outlet.

That was amazingly enjoyable and because of it we all are little tired this week.

In addition unfortunatly, I have too many things to get done.

The first thing to get down in this week is Zion audition.

We would choose some groups of Zion dancing club which is to be performing for Christmas Party. Christmas Party will be held on Dec. 13th and it is the biggest or most interested party in Keio. That's why we have practiced for about 2 mounths for this audition.

And I am president of Zion, so I had to set the all things up.

The secound, third and forth thing to need to get done in this week is all TEST.

I will have Math test on next Thursday.

Then, I will have the test of Linear Algebra and Economy.

This is unbelievably hard to us. It is the hardest week we ever had.

I hope this week will end in peaceful circumstances.

Parents Day

On last Friday, we had Parents Day and many students’ parents had come to this school and dorms. Almost all students’ parents who were coming are from Japan.

Unfortunately, at this time, my parents didn’t come because they were pretty busy. So in stead, we went to Manhattan on Saturday.

We rode on the train from White Plains station to Grand Central station. We woke up in pretty earily, which is like 8:00 am. That was my first time to go Manhattan in this school year so I was so exited and couldn’t sleep well in last night.
At first we got on subways and went to China Town. In China Town, we can enjoy many things in very cheep money.

We were trying to eat lunch there. We went to Joe’s Shanghai which is most popular Chinese food restraint for Keio students or other Japanese travelers. Its Shorompoos are unbelievably tasty. I promise you they won’t let you down. If you get there, I think you have to go there.

When I got to Manhattan, I hope I will try to find a new good food there. And if I have a opportunity, I will show you on this blog, so please check them out!

Thank you

I have nothing to write down for this blog today. This is just because I didn’t go out the last weekend. We were confined to our rooms or on campus because of penalty 1. There is a dorm’s rule that students cannot go out of their dorm or rooms after 10:00pm. However we all Keio students have a kind of strange habits. If someone has a birthday on next day, we have a kind of party or just celebration just at 0:00am.

We did some bad behavior in that day and got penalty 1 as a result. Therefore I had nothing to do on the last weekend. I just sleep, eat something and then sleep again.

On Saturday afternoon other friends held a small birthday party for the girl who is in the same class to eat birthday cake together and chatting. However I could be there just because of penalty 1. I must be in my own room. That was too bad to me and that make me shame on myself.

I’m thinking over again what I did.

YAKINIKU

We are finally free from the mid-term examinations which we had on last week. For the kind of celebrating of the examinations, we went out to White Plains.
We were disengaged from studying for any examinations until next year, so we were very happy and decide to spend a lot of money there. At first, Nikaido who was my friend said he wanted to play boring together, so we went to the amusement center in White Plains. There are a lot of games or other play equipment. Of course, I won and he lost for all games. He had to do more practice of that. After playing boring, we had a lot of fun with those indoor play equipments. I hope we will have a chance to get there together once more.
After we left the amusement center, we walked to get Kalbi House which is a Chinese grilled meat restaurant. In Japanese, it is called Yakiniku. I love Japanese grilled beef. This is why I choose this blog’s name. We might spent kind of a lot money but we were enough satisfied and much fun.
If you have never went to boring and Kalbi House, please just check them out! It must be fun! Thank you.

Keio Soccer

Keio Soccer team is in season now. Fall season has many outside sports, such as soccer, girls swimming, girls tennis and cross-country. All these Keio sports clubs did great jobs in this season but Keio soccer team is soon becoming the first hurler which we never heard before.
The yearly Keio soccer had been also good but they never went to the state tournaments because other American clubs or teams were so good. However now they Keio soccer will an undying legend in Keio soccer history if they won next two games. Today they will have the second game in the sectional tournament and then, on Thursday, they might have home game if they won today. Many our 12th grade friends are in this soccer so we strongly hope they got the helps of god and get this game today.
If they would accomplish this great exploit, Keio might be like a party!

Let’s wish them to win and cheer them on!!!!

All Students Hungry

We have middle term examinations a couple of weeks later. Middle term exam has many subjects, such as Mathematics, Kokugo, English, Liner Algebra and Economics for 12th grade students. Therefore these two weeks will be the hardest one since this school year has began. Some students have already started preparing for exams. After this week, in another word next week, all afterschool practice will be stopped for exam. We all KEIO students are now in kind of chafing mood.

As usual right before the exam weeks, we cannot be satisfied with dinners in KEIO cafeteria. Some students might stay awake later in the night so they would eat extra foods while they study. That might make someone’s health not good. We have a lot of stresses or pressures on ourselves.

For trying to reduce our stresses, we went Applebee’s in last Saturday. Eating good food is the easiest and most efficient way to relax. I had a steak there. I thought now I’m ready for studying for exam!!

Field Day

On this Monday it was Columbus Day so we had happy three days off in a row. Before that, we had Field Day on Friday.

On Field Day, all students were playing many ball sports which are basketball, soccer, volleyball, handball and dodge ball. Each student would play few sports of them and I played basketball and volleyball. My team lost volleyball game but we won the basketball game against all classes as good luck would have it. Then we class K finally won as the total score. This Filed Day was great time to have fun with other students even whom you don’t know well before. We had a new understanding that sports are the amazing tool to communicate to others without any feeling of a delicacy. We will have PE festival in April so we hope to have some benefits from these experience.

SIX FLAGS

On last weekend, we went to Six Flags in New Jersey. Six Flags is a huge amusement park which has many interesting attractions or rides. Unfortunately, last year, we couldn’t go there because of hard rain. So we had looked forward to get there since last year.
In that morning, we woke up at 7:00am and left our school at 7:30. That was so early but nobody was late on time. It took about 3 hours with buses and we ate 2 breads and juices. When I woke up, buses already got to the park.
When we get to the entrance of the park, we could see a huge ride which is called King Daka. King Daka is the highest roller coaster in Six Flags. I tried to ride this roller coaster but the lines that people were waiting for it was so long and we had to wait for at least 2 hours. I hadn’t much time so give it up.
The most interesting ride for me in this park was NITRO. NITRO is also a roller coaster and it’s also high but most amazing thing is its length. Other coasters take about 1 or 2 minutes but NITRO takes their double or three times. If you could have opportunity to go Six Flags, I invite you to try it.

That was so good weekend for relaxing and refreshing.

Thank you.

The Weeks After Ice Breaker

Last weekend we had a first party which is called Ice Breaker. The biggest aim of Ice Breaker is to be more familiar with new comer students. New comer students would know many current students, who are called Senpais in Japanese, and then Senpais could know and care about them. We Senpais had some performances to entertain them with music or dancing. My friend Akira Nihei who is president of student government had sung a Japanese famous pop song. He is a kind of good gagman. Their performance is very interested and I heard a lot of audience liked it. I think the new comer students could see other side of president of student government.

We ZION also had some performance at that party. I think it was kind of successful because my friends told me that new comer students’ performance was excellent. I know they had practiced so hard every day for this party. So, I’m very happy that they did great jobs and keio students really like them.

See you next time

Theater Day

Today, we had TOFLE tests in the morning, then we went to Manhattan to watch the musical HAIRSPRAY. I haven't see it before so I was looking forward to go. We saw the Phantom of the Opera last year which was little dark and its story was quite complicated for me. However, at this time, I think HAIRSPRAY was good to see for the young or foreigners who don't understand English well. This musical complains of the racial discrimination, so it was good opportunity to think these issues. This is because we Japanese are not familiar with this kind of problems.

Last Weekend (9/17)

Last weekend, I went to NYC with my friend, Nikaido and Okumura. I enjoyed shopping in SOHO where there are many apparel clothing stores. In Manhattan, you can get not only a lot of first-rate labels but also many accessible items. After we got some clothes or shoes, we went down to China Town. In China Town, you can see cheeper items or foods. However you have to be careful about fake label things. We ate some sho-ron-pos which are chenese dumplings. Those dumpling have tasty soup in them. If you have chance to get there, I strongly recommend you to eat those. I promise you can never forget its tast.

see you again
